Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on the belief that scientific research and innovation are vital to the future development of both knowledge and society.

We want to inspire people to become involved in science, and scientific research and development.

Steve Jobs once said ‘The only way to do great work is to love what you do’, and we are passionate about science. It can help explain, develop and enhance our understanding of the world, but it also offers hope and opportunity to both individuals and society as a whole.

For us the company is founded on scientific principles, and we take approach our company in a similar as Hewlett Packard (HP) Way, as described by Dave Packard in 1960 where he said ‘I think many people assume, wrongly, that a company exists simply to make money… While this is an important result of a company’s existence, we have to go deeper to find the real reasons for our being.’ (Packard, 1995).

This philosophy is translated into the following company aims:

  • Promote the commercialisation of academic and scientific research, including actively supporting the growth of the UK and international communities.
  • Development of end user software solutions and educational material to promote the usage of Earth Observation imagery and its underlying information by non experts.
  • Scientific research into environmental mapping and change detection including marine, fresh water and terrestrial applications.

We will look to fulfil these aims through collaboration with interested associates (individuals and organisations) from the international community.
