This year we have been working on a Space4Climate Agriculture Market Breakthrough project to understand the use of satellite services, particularly satellite imagery and its derived data products and services, within the ā€˜last mileā€™ of the agricultural supply chain, i.e., those advisors and suppliers who are involved in supplying and interpreting data or providing advice and/or services directly to farmers, alongside the farmers themselves.

The project, funded by Space4Climate, has involved Environment Systems, Remote Sensing Applications Consultants Ltd (RSAC), and Ian Encke Consulting who are working alongside Pixalytics to speak with the different stakeholders involved ā€“ including farmers, smallholders, growers, agronomists, famer advisors, agricultural networks, technology providers, Agritech centres, machinery providers, and Government bodies with a focus on research and innovation amongst others.

Over the course of the last six months, weā€™ve visited various agricultural shows, conferences and exhibitions; conducted a variety of 121 in-depth interviews; collected snapshot views on a survey; took part in various webinars and online discussions, including hosting one event to gather opinions, comments, and feedback from all the different stakeholders.

As we pull together the analysis, we need your help to shape the recommendations and outline the key actions to be proposed from the project.

The team behind the project will present the Space4Climate Agriculture Market Breakthrough work, the key findings, and showcase some potential ideas and opportunities that have come up.

You will have the time to discuss the findings and contribute input to the recommendations and actions, as well as talk, network, and make connections with other people in the sector. Coffee and lunch will be provided.
