Trusted Earth Observation Experts
Pixalytics is an independent consultancy company specialising in Earth observation. We combine cutting-edge scientific knowledge with satellite and airborne data to provide answers to questions about our planet’s resources and behaviour.
We are an independent consultancy based in Plymouth (UK), collaborating with those both within and outside the space sector, aiming to bring the value of satellite observations to a range of applications.
The underlying work includes developing algorithms and software, including quality control activities and end-user applications, and supporting the development of new satellite mission. Recent activities include:
- Space4Climate Market Breakthrough activity on the uptake of satellite imagery by the agriculture section – we are organising an online event on 20 October 2025.
- ARIA-funded project Aerial Experimental Remote sensing of Ocean Salinity, heaT, Advection and Thermohaline Shifts (AEROSTATS) that developing a novel Earth Observation approach to measure previously unobserved small-scale ocean processes that drive exchanges of freshwater and heat between the Greenland Ice Sheet and the North Atlantic Subpolar Gyre.
- NAIAD ESA Scout candidate mission focused on water quality.
- AquaWatch UK-Australia developing disruptive space technologies alongside an integrated water quality monitoring and forecasting system for implementation across the UK, Australia, and beyond to provide actionable information on inland and coastal water quality.
- Space for Climate Obervatory SwedCoast-BlueCarb project this is evaluating the mapping of blue carbon (seagrass and macroalgae) as well as bottom substrates by combining satellites, field data, and specialist knowledge.
- HERCHI Payload Development project looking at the developed of a new-space mission for measuring methane and air quality.
- OGC Open Science Persistent Demonstrator Training Course
- Practical Handbook of Remote Sensing textbook
