Did you read the top Pixalytics blogs of 2019?

As we begin the New Year, we’re using this week to look back at our most popular blogs of the last twelve months. The question is, how many of them have you read?

2019 was another successful one for our website, with our web traffic growing again. This year the views of our website increased by 25%, and the number of visitors increased by 21%. We were on course for a quarter of million views until the Google algorithm change in November seemed to co-inside with a bit of a loss of traffic – something we need to sort out in 2020!

Our most viewed blog of the year was:

Only one other blog written this year made the top ten most viewed, this was:

The remaining top ten most viewed blogs were all written in previous years, some of which were written four, five or even six years ago! You might notice a slight pattern about the satellites orbiting the Earth though! These blogs are consistently in our most-read lists, and so hopefully this means they are helpful to people which is great. In order, the remaining most viewed blogs of the last year are:

Focusing purely on the blogs written this year, the top two you already know and the remaining eight slots, in order, are:

This is our sixth full year of writing blogs – meaning we’ve put out over 300 articles! It is a lot of work, but the number of people who come up to us at meetings and conferences and tell us how much they enjoy reading them encourages us to carry on. We have students who tell us they read the blog and then decided they wanted to work in space, we know journalists and other writers use some of our blogs as sources of information, and even a number of people in the industry tell us they read them to know what is happening! So, you can look forward to another 51 blogs in 2020 – we never write one for Christmas!

We’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to read and comment on the blogs, and we hope we can catch your eye a few times again next year.

We’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and a successful 2020!
